I like these questions too! If I were going to ask the first one, I might not do a multiple choice but ask student to shade all points for which the first and second deriv were neg.

Mmmm hmmm...that's a really good suggestion. I just left out the options of A-E, which made some of my students think that there may be more than one answer, and several of them choose both B and C.
